Africa Day : The Online Conference Africa is no doubt, blessed with an abundance of a vast array of natural resources and yet, is the poorest continent on the planet. A larger percentage of the population live below the poverty line in spite of the wealth of resources on the continent. Why? There are perhaps a number of reasons but most pertinent and glaring is the question of competence which stares us unflinchingly in the face. Does Africa have the requisite knowledge and technical know-how to exploit its vast array of resources? Can we handle our own infrastructure projects and solve our unique problems? Today, in commemoration of the Africa day, the A4A Youth initiative brings together young people from tertiary institutions across Africa, to raise awareness on bridging the competence gap and proffer strategic solutions for the education system to equip the African people in solving the problems of Africa.
